Practice vs course evaluation
This article explains the difference between Practice evaluations and instructor course evaluations. It applies to Practice users and instructors.

What Practice is for
Practice helps you rehearse on your schedule: record or upload a speech, get rubric-based feedback, save runs, compare speeches, and track a Learning Outcomes Profile.
Treat Practice feedback as coaching input. Improve the speech, then deliver the version your instructor evaluates in class when that is required.
What linking a course changes
When you link a course:
- Course appears in Practice navigation.
- You can review class evaluations your instructor completed.
- Progress may include those instructor evaluations alongside your practice runs.
Linking does not turn every practice run into a graded submission. Your instructor’s course workflow still controls official evaluation and consent for course records.
Consent is separate
Students on a roster may receive a consent form email for course evaluation storage. That form does not create a Practice account. Practice login and consent completion are different steps. See Student consent overview.
Dual access
Some users have both instructor and Practice access on one account. Use the account menu to switch apps. Work you do in Practice stays in the Practice surfaces unless it is also an instructor course evaluation.
