Run a single evaluation

This article explains how to evaluate one student speech. It applies to instructors.

The evaluation flow is a four-step wizard: Upload → Details → Evaluate → Results.

Before you begin​

  • You have at least one course with students on the roster
  • You have a rubric ready to use
  • You have a supported audio or video file (see File formats and limits)

Run the evaluation​

  1. Select Evaluate Speech in the top navigation bar.
  2. Select Single Upload.
  3. Upload the student's recording or paste a video URL.
  4. Select Continue to Details.
  5. Select the course, student, and rubric.
  6. Select Continue to Evaluation, then Run Evaluation.

SpeechGradebook processes the recording against your rubric criteria. Processing time varies by video length.

Review results​

On the Results screen, review scores and AI feedback by category. Download a PDF report or email results to the student when those actions are available in your deployment.
