Learning Outcomes Profile
This article explains Progress surveys and trend cards in Practice. It applies to Practice users.
Your Learning Outcomes Profile combines short self-report surveys with indicators from evaluated speeches. It is a learning tool, not a clinical diagnosis.
Surveys
Practice may offer surveys at different points:
| Survey | When it appears |
|---|---|
| Baseline | Early — often recommended before or around your first saved speech |
| Checkpoint | After you have progress to compare against baseline |
| Post | Near the end of a course or program window |
Each survey uses established instruments such as PRCA-24 (Personal Report of Communication Apprehension) and CCS (related communication competence items), presented in plain language in the app.
Complete a survey
- Open Evaluate or Progress.
- When a survey banner appears, select the button to start it.
- Answer every item, then submit.
After you save a survey, construct cards on Progress update to show self-report change where available.
Performance trends
- Open Progress.
- Review Learning Outcomes construct cards and the Progress category trends below them.
- Tap the help icon on a card when you want an in-app explanation of that measure.
Category trends unlock after you save enough speeches (practice or linked instructor evaluations). The empty state tells you when more data is needed.
How to use the profile
- Treat gaps between survey scores and speech performance as coaching signals, not pass/fail grades.
- Revisit Progress after several practice runs to see which NCA-aligned categories are improving.
- Complete checkpoint and post surveys when offered so change over time is visible.
